What is Ace?
Ace is an iPhone study app that turns your own course material — PDFs, PowerPoint slides, Word documents, ePub textbooks and YouTube lectures — into four-option practice questions checked against the source. You can study them alone, or challenge a friend to a two-player quiz duel with 15-second turns.
From reading list to practice test in about a minute
No typing cards by hand. No copying questions out of a chatbot. You bring the material, Ace does the rest.
Add your material
Upload a PDF, PowerPoint, Word doc or ePub up to 100 MB — or paste a YouTube link. Lecture notes, past papers, the whole textbook.
Pick the chapter
Tell Ace which chapter or topic your exam covers. One chapter beats a whole book: narrower scope, sharper questions.
Play it
Flip through the questions on your own, or send a friend an invite and take turns answering against the clock.
Questions that actually test you
Anyone can ask an AI for "ten quiz questions". The hard part is making the wrong answers believable — so that getting it right means you know it, not that you guessed.
Checked against your source
Every question is tied back to the passage it came from. If the answer isn't in your material, the question doesn't make it into your set.
Wrong answers that teach
Distractors come from the mistakes students genuinely make about the topic, and from true facts about the concepts it's most often confused with.
No guessable answers
No "all of the above", no option that's obviously longer than the rest, no trivia about page numbers. If you can pass it without studying, it's thrown out.
Scoped to your exam
Choose the chapters and topics you are being tested on. Ace reads the table of contents so you don't revise what isn't on the paper.
Built for two
Invite a friend to a duel: alternating turns, a 15-second clock, a three-second "learn from it" moment after each answer, and a winner.
A plan, not a pile
Put study sessions on the in-app calendar — 30, 45 or 60 minutes, solo or with a friend — and mirror them to Google Calendar so revision happens before the night before.

Testing yourself beats re-reading. By a lot.
Decades of learning research agree on one thing: retrieving an answer from memory strengthens it far more than reading it again. A large review of study techniques rated practice testing and spreading study out over time as the two most useful strategies — and highlighting and re-reading among the least.
Ace is built on both. Every card makes you commit to an answer before you see it, and the calendar spreads your sessions across the weeks before an exam.
Who uses Ace
- University students with a lecture every day and a final at the end of term.
- Medical, nursing and pharmacy students drowning in slide decks full of near-identical terms.
- High-school students revising for AP, A-level, GCSE or IB exams from their textbooks.
- Professionals working through certification manuals for licences and exams.
- Study pairs and groups who already quiz each other — and want the app to keep score.
Quick answers
What does Ace do?
Ace turns your study material into multiple-choice practice questions. Upload a PDF, PowerPoint, Word document or ePub, or paste a YouTube link, choose the chapter you need, and Ace builds a set of four-option questions checked against that material. Study them solo or in a two-player duel with a friend.
Is Ace free?
Your first study set is free on the website. After that, Ace Premium has a 3-day free trial on the weekly plan (€12.99 per week afterwards), a monthly plan at €39 and a yearly plan at €350. During the free trial you can upload up to three files. Cancel anytime. See pricing.
Is Ace available on Android?
Not yet. Ace is launching on iPhone first. An Android version is planned for later.
How accurate are the questions?
Each question is generated from a specific passage of your material and checked against it before it reaches you. Questions that can be answered without knowing the material, or whose answer is not supported by the source, are discarded. No AI tool is perfect, so if a question looks wrong you can always check the passage it came from.
How does studying with a friend work?
Invite a friend from a study set. When they join, you take turns: one player answers while the other watches, each turn has a 15-second clock, and after each answer both phones show the correct option for three seconds so you can learn from it. Ace keeps score and shows the winner at the end. More on duels.
What file types can I upload?
PDF, PowerPoint (.pptx), Word (.docx), ePub and plain text files up to 100 MB, plus YouTube video links. Files need selectable text — scanned photos of pages without a text layer won't produce questions.
